So there is a Google Page Rank update over the last few days and the contest blogs niche has been actively at work.
It’s timely for an update on which are the most popular active contest blog operating now. The matrix used to evaluate this list is slightly different from the list that Contest Blogger had for his Top 23 Contest blog list that was compiled a while back.
This list uses the Technorati List as the top matrix in determining popularity. Google PageRank would normally be used as a secondary matrix in the ranking and in most cases support the Technorati Ranking. Alexa is not really used as a matrix as it can be easily manipulated and dependent on having users install the Alexa Tool bar.
So here’s presenting you the Top 17 Active Contest Blog List
- Technorati: 6298
- PageRank: 5
The big kahuna is still holding strong in 1st place. In fact in this PageRank update, Contest Blogger has gotten a PageRank 5. He has added a forum and various new features to his contest site.

- PageRank: 0
The Prize Blog is continuing strong. In fact, they just ran a contest to giveaway a Blog mascot that was very well received. We are not sure why it still continues with a PageRank of 0 though.
3. DisregardMe
- Technorati: 30,347
- PageRank: 3
Disregard ME, started as a social experiment for the owner to enter contest and derive a community. The owner of the blog has enough fun with this genre and is looking for a new owner to take over the blog. He has put up the site for sale. Given it’s impressive stats so far, it would be a good opportunity for someone who is interesting in joining this fraternity to pick up this blog and continue the good work.
4. Contest Beat

- PageRank: 3
Contest Beat has been actively at work promoting the blog. It really deserves the number 4 position for it’s intensive work in promotion. You can see it everywhere. In fact, it has even undergone a recent face lift. It has added a few features to help it monetize the site.

MyBlogContest is also a contest blog that has risen quite a bit in terms of statue in the last few months. It has won quite a few contest since it has first started.
6. RevieWow

RevieWow has managed to keep it’s current status and is still going strong. But given that some of the previously lower ranking blogs have overtaken RevieWow, it might be time to pick up the paces if it’s to remain in the Top Ten.
7. Contester

Contester is a surprise addition to the Top Ten list. In the list compiled by Contest Blogger, it was sitting comfortable in the 17th position. This is definitely a contest blog to look out for in the coming months.

The Link Bait has arrived in the Top Ten. This contest blog has the lofty ambition of monetising this contest site to be a top money earner. It will probalby have to work much harder if it is to meet the target that it has set for itself. It is definitely a blog to keep in view you you want to monetise your blog.
9. Enter Now

- PageRank: 3
Enter Now is still in the Top Ten by virtual of being much longer on the Internet and in the blogosphere. Though it has regular updates on contests on the blog, it may not be able to keep up with the recent onslaught of the contest blogs that are coming onboard.

Blog Contest on the Net has also moved into the Top Ten position. Looking at the site itself, it’s really unbelivable that a contest blog can hold so much advetisement yet still retain the theme of being a contest blog. Maybe The link Bait may want to take a leave or two from the way this blog is monetised.

I have no idea why Google penalized me. I went from a PR4 to a PR0. It’s disgraceful and embarrassing. I certainly hope I do not lose any readers or reputation over this. Truly a sad day for The Prize Blog.
